Across 17 XRP ETF and ETP products globally, institutional custodians are now holding 1.58 billion XRP — representing $2.9 billion in assets under management and 1.58% of the total circulating XRP supply. Live data from XRPLAnalytics shows the custody figure is holding steady through July, with the dominant US spot ETF position concentrated in a single live fund.

The Bitwise Reality

Among the 17 tracked products, Bitwise's XRP ETF is the only US spot fund currently receiving live, verified inflow data. As of this writing, Bitwise holds 281.6 million XRP. The remaining US spot funds — Canary (XRPC), Franklin (XRPZ), 21Shares (TOXR), REX-Osprey (XRPR), and Grayscale (GXRP) — are seeded products with static placeholder data, meaning their custody figures have not been confirmed via live custodial wallet queries and should not be used as current holdings references.

This distinction matters for anyone tracking actual institutional flows. Bitwise's holdings are verifiable on-chain. The seeded figures for other funds represent initial seed capital structure rather than live market inflows.

Custody-Only Signal

1.58 billion XRP sits in ETF custody. Price is down on the month. The XRP didn't leave. That's the signal — institutions are not selling. They are holding through the range.

When ETF AUM declines without corresponding redemptions, it's a price-driven decline — lower XRP price means lower dollar AUM even if XRP holdings are unchanged. This is a critical distinction for interpreting ETF data. A fall in AUM that is not accompanied by a drop in XRP held is not outflow — it is market value movement on a static custody position. The conviction indicator is whether XRP leaves custody, not whether dollar AUM fluctuates.

What This Means Long-Term

The 1.58% supply captured in ETF custody represents a significant structural demand floor. As more US funds move from seeded to live status, the tracked custody figure will become more reliable and likely increase. EU ETP products add additional custody layers that are not included in the US-focused figures.
